COERR organized a dialogue with youth leaders on early child marriage in which they were encouraged to brainstorm and analyze the root causes and core problems as well as the solution, as follows:
- Workshop should be organized for all stakeholders such as children, parents and all concerned in acknowledging problems and effects of early child marriage such as problem of children’s dropping out of school; lack of family life knowledge and skills.
- Early child marriage issue should be included in school curriculum or classroom learning.
- Awareness should be raised to all stakeholders in communities on the effects of early child marriage
- The camp committee should set the rules /guidelines/ principles of the early child marriage and distribute the information leaflets in the community and school bulletin board that marriage is for those over 18 years of age.
- The children and youth leader attending COERR workshop should disseminate the information and raise awareness to their community villagers and friends.
COERR Mae Hong Son organized the Dialogue in Ban Mae Surin Temporary Shelter on May 20, 2022 for 62 participants of 51 females and 11 males; and on May 26 and 30, 2022 at Ban Mai Nai Soi Temporary Shelter for 106 participants of 79 females and 27 males.
COERR Kanchanaburi organized the Dialogue with 49 youth of 46 females and 3 males in Ban Tham Hin Temporary Shelter, Ratchaburi Province on June 7, 2022.
